The Comunal Youth Council of Gubbio is a council which has an organization similar to that of adults, but is composed only of young people.
It was created in 1996.
This organism offers the opportunity to the youngsters, between the age of 9 and 14, to express their own opinion on matters which directly concern them and also to propose initiatives which they consider necessary.
It takes care of various sectors: surroundings, free time, sport, information, organization of the city.
It plays an important part in educating the youngsters to participate in the realization of projects and to stay and grow together.
The Comunal Youth Council of Gubbio if formed of 31 young people:
- The Mayor
- 4 Assessors
- 26 Councillors
Presently the seat is in piazza San Pietro, at the
l'Informagiovani,
(youth informers), and the council unites once a month at the schools of the territory.
Every Assessor is at the head of a Commission composed of some councillors.
In these last years important projects regarding the surroundings have been made, such as games, sport, the solidarity and meetings with other youngsters.
